My story

Making things easier

It’s likely that I come at all this from a slightly different angle to your regular carpenter or joiner.

As someone whose life has always been closely connected to tech in some form or other, I believe in trying to maximise the advantage these tools can offer.

Computers should be closing the gap between an idea and a finished room. 3D modelling lets you see exactly what lies ahead. A CNC machine can cut multiple parts quickly, accurately and repeatably. Even just having a quick video call saves time and gets things moving faster!

Naturally, none of this replaces careful attention along the way, but it does make projects run that much more smoothly and efficiently.

p.s. lately I’ve been building lots of hidden bookshelf doors. So more people can discover the joys of doors that do more, I’ve also put it all online. At Wildcard.build, you will be able to download bespoke plans, cutting lists and build guides. So if you’re not lucky enough to live close by in Dorset or Wiltshire, or you simply want to have a crack at doing it yourself, that’s the place to head.
